Detroit rapper on the run for owing the IRS $5M

Sameerah Marrel of Detroit and Noelle Brown of Romulus, who performed as a rap duo under the name “Deuces Wild” and are best known for their song "Sweat it" on YouTube. One half of the rap duo, Sameerah Marrel skipped out on her pretrial hearing and hasn't been seen since July. Her residence is empty, not even her mama knows her whereabouts!

Brown and Marrel worked together to file fraudulent 1041s for refunds. 122 Estate and Trust tax returns between the years of 2013-2017 were referred to IRS investigations for further investigations. The 1041s filed showed that large amounts of taxes were withheld by the IRS in excess of amount owed, which then created large refunds. After an investigation, it was determined that the refunds in the amount of $13.6M were requested with an actual amount of $5,539,049.28 actually being paid out to the Duo.

Many of the tax returns were mailed in, but 16 were electronically filed. The investigator used the IP address to find Marrel and Brown. Marrel was seen on hours of surveillance footage making deposits into multiple Huntington Bank, bank accounts that were linked the the scheme. In total Marrel had 29 bank accounts.

Brown has been linked to at least 10 fraudulent tax returns that totaled more than $2 million. Both are also known to dabble in Grant fraud with the government.
